Coaches Training Expo

Date:  February 25, 2012

Greater Beaumont Area 5

Coaches Expo registration deadline is February 20, 2012.  Deadline dates allow us to process information and packets for all attendees.

Special Olympics Texas - Area 5 will host a Coaches Training Expo on Saturday, February 25, 2012. There is no cost to become certified other than your time.

There are 2 parts to the coaches training, please review as follows:

  • The theory part teaches you about Special Olympics Texas Information Guide (SIG) and is required for new coaches.
  • The clinical part teaches you about the specific sport and is taken whenever someone wants to become certified to coach that specific sport.

A practicum of 10 hours is required after the coaches training to complete the certification process.

All coaches must be Class A volunteers which requires a completed volunteer A form and completion of the General Orientation/Protective Behavior Quiz.

You can complete the volunteer A form by CLICKING HERE

You can complete the General Orientation by CLICKING HERE

You can complete the Protective Bahaviors by CLICKING HERE

We look foward to having the opportunity to teach you how to work with the athletes of Special Olympics Texas.  Mark your calendars to attend this coaches training.
